Day 1: Arrival
On arrival at the Hotel in Moshi you will be met by a Kilimanjaro Climb representative for an introductory briefing through all pre-climb details. Dinner and overnight at is at hotel.

Day 2: Marangu to Mandara Hut
At 7:30 am, drive to Marangu Gate a few kilometers past Marangu. Start the 4-5 hour walk to Mandara Hut at 8,800 feet. Most of the walk is through forest on a good path. Mandara Hut is an attractive collection huts in a forest clearing. If you have the time and energy a short walk to Maundi Crater is worthwhile. From its low rim you can see above the trees and should be able to see the main summit, although in the afternoon it will almost certainly be cloud-capped. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
From Mandara, you will continue through a short time before reaching the heather and moorland zone, from where there are good views of the peaks and Moshi. After a couple of hours you will suddenly emerge from the forest to hopefully amazing views of the summit, suddenly much nearer. The path follows the rolling moorland to reach Horombo Hut at 12,000 feet after a total of about six hours. Once you reach Horombo it is noticeably colder and you will need to have a fleece jacket or sweater with you. Tonight you camp at Horombo Hut at an altitude of 3720m.

Day 4: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut
After an early breakfast, you will continue on the moorland path, past the 'Last Water Point' where you should fill your bottles. The slope eases as you reach the desert like expanse of The Saddle and the group of huge rocks. It's an easy couple of hours to Kibo Hut, but you'll be troubled by the view of the path you'll take tomorrow. Kibo Hut is at 15,300 feet and so it will be very cold at night. Early dinner and rest before midnight departure for the summit.

Day 5: Gilman's Point
Early midnight light breakfast. The steepest part of the route is to Gilman’s Point 5700m, which takes about 5-6 hours. There is another 90 minutes of trekking through snow until you continue around the crater to Uhuru Peak (5895m), the highest point in the whole of Africa. The descent to Kibo Huts takes about 2-3 hours where you can rest, refresh yourself and continue to walk back to Horombo Huts - 3 hours. Dinner and Overnight at Horombo Huts.

Day 6: Horombo Hut to Marangu:
After breakfast we descend to Mandara Huts (3-4 hours) for lunch and then we descend all the way down to Marangu Gate (2 hours). At Marangu Gate you can collect your certificates, from where you are collected and transferred back to Moshi for your overnight stay at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 7:
Have breakfast at leisure, you are free to relax and thereafter driven to the airport which marks the end of your safari.
